Professional Services
Supported an Australian Data and Analytics firm in the design and build of a joint venture with a major Australian bank
Context
An Australian Data and Analytics service provider was seeking to enter into a strategic joint-venture agreement with a major Australian company that had a strong foothold in Australian data and consumer patterns.
The D&A company had an excellent product suite but limited project management and strategic problem solving capability within its core team and was struggling to meet the demands of this endeavor.
A senior BC Strategy consultant was engaged to support the management and delivery of the joint venture; ensuring the timely launch of the JV while sticking to assigned budget.
Approach
There were three key areas of focus:
Project management and delivery: Established critical pathway, embedded weekly sprint ritual and assigned clear accountability to ensure efficient delivery.
Program management best practices: Identified existing pain points and introduced new ways of working alongside improvement imperatives to establish critical pathway discipline.
Identification & solution of major strategic challenges: Identified scoping and strategic pitfalls and quickly remediated through a combination of workshops and problem solving exercises
Outcome
The joint venture was delivered to schedule and launched on time.
A number of strategic imperatives that has not been initially considered, such as employer company’s best-practices & key Employee Value Proposition (EVP) characteristics, were addressed which resulted in a positive employee experience and retention of key staff members
As a secondary benefit, a roadmap of operational & change management capability improvements was delivered to the Group Executive in order to mature the business for future JV opportunities.
